One of my proudest moments as a woman

My sweet friend and doula sent me pictures of my birth. My hard drive crashed and I lost a lot of photos, including my birth pics. So once I stumbled upon these I realized how proud I was of myself in that moment. I worked so hard- both emotionally and physically to give birth to my son. It reminds me that I'm very capable of doing anything I set my mind to.

Real labor setting in...

All I wanted to do is lie in the bed. :)

Okay, now for the tub!

It all happened so fast- I remember this part was where I was trying to negotiate my way through it in my head.

Starting to surrender

Surrendering to the process my body is doing.

Trance like

New life!

Oh Jen I love this! You should definitely be proud. These pictures bring up such strong emotions in me. I love that we both birthed in the same tub with the same midwife.

Can't wait to share another birth with you! (Actually, I can wait...its still kinda fresh, but I'm excited you'll be there again).

Thank you Jen! I am looking forward to my own water birth at the end of June or beginning of July. Great pictures to show your journey. Very inspiring!

Oh my.

I'm weeping.

It'll be my turn any day now and I'm overwhelmed with how I can't WAIT for this. Even the pain that I know will come. I've got my birthing tub all ready to go upstairs!

These pictures are beautiful, Jen.

Meg, I'm so excited that you are going to get to give birth in the water. It was still intense, but there was just a primal feeling with it all. I actually enjoyed feeling him move out of me. I felt every part. It was way cool.

Yes, this is giving birth in visual. This is how I remember; the extreme concentration and surrender to my body! Painful, but so very special...

Gorgeous pictures!

(and look at your baby now; can you imagine?)
